How our coverage works
The only thing that changes from area to area is the shortest visit we can commit to, and that comes down to how far our carers have to travel. Everything else, the training, the standards, the management and the CQC rating, is identical wherever you are.
Medway
Medway is home. Our office is in the Joiners Shop at the Historic Dockyard in Chatham, most of our carers live locally, and this is where our largest teams are. It’s also where our CQC Outstanding rating was earned, and we’re the only home care provider in Medway to hold it.
Funding and assessments in Medway go through Medway Council
Medway is a unitary authority, so everything sits with one council: needs assessments, financial assessments, direct payments, the lot. If you live in Medway you do not deal with Kent County Council, which catches a lot of people out when they’ve been reading general Kent advice online.
Maidstone & Malling
Our biggest expansion, and an easy run for us down the A229 and along the M20. We cover Maidstone itself and the villages around it, and the whole Malling side from Aylesford through to Kings Hill.
Funding and assessments here go through Kent County Council
Maidstone Borough Council and Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council look after housing, council tax and bins. Adult social care is a county responsibility, so needs assessments, financial assessments and direct payments all go through Kent County Council, not the borough. It’s a small thing that saves a lot of wasted phone calls.
Gravesend
Gravesend and the Gravesham villages are close enough to Strood that several of them are a shorter journey for our carers than parts of Medway are. We cover the town, Northfleet, and the villages out towards Meopham and Cobham.
Funding and assessments here go through Kent County Council
Gravesham Borough Council handles housing and council tax. Adult social care, including needs assessments and direct payments, goes through Kent County Council.
Sevenoaks
We cover the whole Sevenoaks district, from the town and the villages south of it up through Swanley, Longfield and West Kingsdown. It’s a longer journey than our other areas, so our shortest visit here is an hour rather than half an hour. Everything above that is exactly the same as anywhere else we work, including several visits a day and full live-in care.
Funding and assessments here go through Kent County Council
Sevenoaks District Council handles housing and council tax. Adult social care goes through Kent County Council. Plenty of families in this part of Kent fund care privately rather than going through the council at all, in which case you can arrange it directly with us and skip the assessment process entirely.
Live-in care, anywhere in Kent
Live-in care works differently. The carer lives in the home rather than driving to it, so the travel limits that shape everything above simply don’t apply. That means we can arrange live-in care anywhere in the county, including places we don’t visit for hourly care.

These lists are the villages we’re confident about, not a hard boundary. Plenty of people live just outside a list and we cover them perfectly happily. Occasionally somebody lives inside one and we have to be honest that we can’t do a 7am call there reliably. The only way to know is to ask.

Questions about where we work
My village isn’t on the list. Does that mean no?
Not necessarily. The lists above are the places we’re confident about, not a fence. If you’re a few minutes outside one of them there’s a good chance we can help, and if we can’t we’ll say so and try to point you towards someone who can. Give us a ring with your postcode.
Why is the shortest visit an hour in Sevenoaks and half an hour everywhere else?
Travel. A 30 minute call only works properly if the carer can get there, do the job without rushing, and get to the next person on time. Close to base that adds up. Out towards Sevenoaks it doesn’t, so rather than take the booking and then run late every morning, we set the minimum at an hour and stick to it. Everything longer than that, including several visits a day and live-in care, works exactly the same as it does in Medway.
Am I dealing with Kent County Council or Medway Council?
If you live in Medway, Medway Council. It’s a unitary authority, so it handles adult social care itself. Everywhere else on this page, Maidstone, Malling, Gravesham and Sevenoaks, adult social care goes through Kent County Council, even though your council tax goes to the borough or district council. Getting this right first time saves you a fortnight.
Does the Outstanding rating apply everywhere you work?
Yes. Azure Care is one registered service with one management team and one set of policies, and the CQC rated that service Outstanding at its inspection in December 2025. Our carers in Maidstone are recruited, trained, supervised and supported in exactly the same way as our carers in Chatham. The rating belongs to the organisation, not to a postcode. You’re based in Chatham. Will I really get a consistent carer further out?
That’s the right question to ask, and it’s the one that separates real coverage from a marketing map. We build small local teams around each person rather than sending whoever happens to be free, and we won’t take on a package we can’t staff properly. If we can’t build a consistent team for your address yet, we’ll tell you.
Do you cover Dartford, Tonbridge or anywhere else in Kent?
For live-in care, yes, anywhere in the county. For hourly visiting care, not yet. We’d rather be straight about that than take your enquiry and then let you down on a Monday morning. Ring us anyway, because if we can’t help we’ll usually know who can.
Are your rates the same in every area?
Broadly, yes. The price varies with the time of day and how complex the support is rather than with which town you’re in. Hourly visiting care starts from £29.45 an hour and live-in care from £1,575 a week. You’ll get a clear written price after the free assessment, with no joining fee and no admin charges.
Are you adding more areas?
Steadily, and only where we can recruit local carers first. We’d rather grow slowly and keep the rating than plant a flag on a map and hope. If you’re just outside our patch, tell us anyway, because knowing where the demand is genuinely affects where we recruit next.
